Building Stronger Communities Together

Welcome to
ACROSS

The Alabama Center for Rural Organizing and Systemic Solutions (ACROSS) was founded in 2023 in the aftermath of a once-in-a-century natural disaster in Camp Hill, AL. When conventional solutions failed, we stepped up to fill the gap and manage the immediate and long-term recovery. Our purpose has expanded to co-create thriving communities with self-sufficiency, adaptive capacity, meaningful labor, and strong families.

Some of the key barriers to healthy, thriving, and resilient communities include aging, limited internet access, limited social and public services, poverty, isolation, lack of public transportation, and limited access to healthcare.

Our objective is to assist our stakeholders in      co-creating thriving communities with
self-sufficiency, adaptive capacity, meaningful labor, and strong families
