Our Community Building Initiatives work with local families to build resilience in their lives by addressing aging, limited internet access, limited social and public services, poverty, andisolation through programs that meet their basic needs, equip them with vital skills to strengthen their family's adaptibility to toxic stress, and foster a culture of community self-sufficiency.
Food Security Programs
Partner First Universalist Church Our Current Capacity With our partner we provide supplemental nutrition to the most poorly resourced in our community through a weekly food pantry and monthly senior food box program.
Proposed Expansion We are currently working to expand this program to include a weekly on-site feeding program and monthly family nutrition skills training program.
Thriving Homeowners Program
Partner(s) Alabama Heirs Property Alliance Our Current Capacity With our partners we work with Camp Hill's residents to protect the character of their beloved small town by securing home ownership and protecting generational wealth.
Proposed Expansion We are currently working to expand this program to include no-cost repairs to the homes which experienced the worst damage from the 2023 hailstorm.

Adaptive Capacity Initiatives
ACROSS' Adaptive Capacity Initiatives work with local families to build strong, self-sufficient communities by addressing limited social and public services, poverty, and isolation through programs that equip stakeholders to find meaningful employment, make repairs to their homes, and build a collaborative community.
Energy Efficiency Program
We work with local homeowners to provide them with the essential skills necessary to address energy inefficiency by making vital repairs and upgrades to prevent energy loss and improve interior air quality.
Tallapoosa County Tool Library
We are currently cataloging donated tools that will be housed at the Workforce Development and Creativity Center and available to residents of Tallapoosa County to check out for their DIY projects at no cost.
Our offices and programs will be located in two separate campuses in Camp Hill, each with a different focus.
Oak Street Community Center
Operated in partnership with First Universalist Church, our Oak Street campus serves as the hub of our community building programs, provides a space for public meetings and gatherings, and is the location of our community building staff and volunteer offices.

Workforce Development and Creativity Center
We have purchased a commercial property that will become a place where locals can learn trades and have access to work spaces and tools to hone their creative skills to find meaningful ways of supporting themselves and their families. Our head office will be located in this center.
